As easy to insert into a standard-sized student backpack as a school notebook, Byrna Shield Backpack Body Armor is a thin, lightweight (14 oz.), flexible Level IIIA-rated ballistic plate. It can withstand up to 6 hits from .44 magnum bullets with velocities up to 1,464 feet-per-second.

IS THE SHIELDING ON BOTH SIDES?

The Ballistipac bags have armor in both the front and the back of the bags so you are covered on both sides.

CAN I TAKE IT ON CARRY-ON OR CHECK IT IN A SUITCASE?

We recommend you check individual airline and airport regulations as well as TSA rules (all of which are subject to change) before traveling with your Byrna body armor. Generally, body armor is allowed in carry-on or checked bags. Please note however that even if an item is generally allowed, TSA officers make the final decision on whether an item is allowed through the checkpoint.

CAN PEOPLE WITH PACEMAKERS USE THE SHIELD BODY ARMOUR?

There is nothing in the body armor that should cause issues with a pacemaker. We recommend that you reach out to a trusted physician for more information on if this is safe and healthy for your situation.

WHICH SIZE IS GENERALLY USED FOR A CHILD'S BACKPACK?

Either shield is appropriate for a child’s backpack. Measure the inside of the child’s backpack to determine which fits better.
